smorgasburg launches in LA.
brooklyn's popular weekly smorgasburg market opened in LA at the alameda produce market! the weather was over 100 degrees, but there were still lots of people out to get their bagels, lobsters, pizza, ramen burgers, coffee, noodle bowls, tacos, banh mi, hot dogs, poke, popsicles, etc!

we are already huge fans of b.s. taqueria, and couldn't wait to try broken spanish! the food was ridiculous. comforting, flavorful and a whole new experience with mexican food for me.
dinner and a show at Q sushi.
as a treat to myself, i booked dinner for us at Q sushi in downtown LA. it's omakase only, and a set price of $165 per person. it's unique as one of the very, very few places outside of japan serving edo-style sushi.

months ago, we reserved tickets to the new broad museum. coincidentally, it ended up being the opening weekend of neighboring (and much anticipated) restaurant, otium. the space is beautiful, and the food was excellent.
jgold 101 at union station
jonathan gold's list of 101 best restaurants in LA was released by the LA times last week, and they threw a launch party at union station to celebrate.

when g&b first opened at grand central market, they always said they were eventually going to tear down the existing stall and create a full 360 degree bar.

i was simply looking for an available table one night after work. simbal came up as a really interesting option especially since i've been missing/craving southeast asian food since we came back from bali.

i'm really excited about this post. i am completely infatuated with b.s. taqueria. it was after work on a tuesday, and i had planned on cooking, but was too tired. so i started skimming through what was available on opentable, and b.s. popped up.
