hi!

i love to eat and travel and document as much of it as i can.

a busy night at broken spanish.

a busy night at broken spanish.

the pedro guerrero (diplomatico exclusiva rum, lucano, walnut, mole bitters, mint) and the aztec colonel (old grand dad bonded bourbon, benedictine, ancho, mole and orange bitters).

we are already huge fans of b.s. taqueria, and couldn't wait to try broken spanish! it was very busy (read: packed and loud) when we went earlier this year, and despite having a reservation, we had to wait quite awhile for a not-so-great table, but that's literally where my complaints end. the food was ridiculous: comforting, flavorful and a whole new experience with mexican food for me.

crudo: diver scallop, apple cucumber, serrano.

heirloom corn tortillas with whipped carnitas fat.

chile relleno: poblano, potato, kale, lemon, soubise.

highlights were the crudo, and the housemade tortillas and carnitas fat. seriously, heart-eyes-emojis for days. and the lamb neck tamale. so, so, so good. i can't wait to go back! i just might wait until they're not quite so busy, or not go on a friday night.

tamale with lamb neck, king oyster mushroom, queso oaxaca.

pulpo with alberjones, chorizo and crema.

half duck with sesame, mole, persimmon.

abuelita hot chocolate: ancho-chocolate cake, alpaco ganache, candied cocao nib, milk ice cream, abuelita broth.

empanada with honey crisp apple, requeson, sherry vanilla ice cream, crema mousse.
