brooklyn's popular weekly smorgasburg market opened in LA at the alameda produce market! the weather was over 100 degrees, but there were still lots of people out to get their bagels, lobsters, pizza, ramen burgers, coffee, noodle bowls, tacos, banh mi, hot dogs, poke, popsicles, etc!

artisanal LA 2015 spring show
i finally made it to artisanal la this past weekend! their spring 2015 show was atthe reef event space in downtown. in the past, i've really only been to craft shows, so it was a nice change of pace to attend an event much more heavily focused on local makers of food, beverage, and items for the kitchen and garden.

i discovered jeni's ice creams at the gelson's in silverlake and quickly became obsessed. with flavors like goat cheese & cherries and middle west whiskey eggnog, how could i not?
