before i jump to the next stop on our trip to south korea, let’s talk about a spot back home.
sushi note in sherman oaks has been one of our favorite sushi spots in recent years - not too fancy, midcentury aesthetic, with an amazing wine program. we always wished they had a larger omakase option though, so we were very excited when they opened up sushi note omakase in beverly hills.
the space is located in a cozy space in the underground parking structure of the rodeo collection mall, which took us a minute to find. once inside though, we were again greeted by the warm, modern and minimalist vibes we were used to.
we had high expectations going in and we were not disappointed. every bite was gorgeous and delicious; the service was impeccable.
as usual with an omakase, we were asked if we wanted to order anything else a la carte before we moved onto the final courses. the uni was so good that i said i definitely wanted another order of that! they asked if i wanted some caviar on top, and i was feeling flush and happy so i said why not? well, i wasn’t expecting that it was in face an entire tin of caviar i had ordered, so they also gave me a build-your-own-handroll situation to consume the rest. oops!
this meal was a splurge but absolutely worth it. we’ll definitely be back in the future when celebrating special occasions, or maybe just to treat ourselves.
