Jul 21 anajak thai omakase, sherman oaks.

i’ve heard about and wanted to go to anajak thai for years now, but they’re out in sherman oaks and reservations are not easy to get! and they have several different experiences to choose from - their regular dine-in menu, a crazy popular walk-in only TTT every tuesday where they cook outside and often collaborate with guest chefs, and a monthly omakase.

i finally bit the bullet and made sure i was ready to grab an omakase reservation back in january right when they became available and i was so happy i managed to get one!

i don’t think we’ve ever had a thai tasting menu before. while quite a few have incorporated thai flavors into some dishes, to have an entire multi-course meal moving through so many different flavors, ingredients and preparations was really fun and more importantly, really delicious! i only wish that some courses were more spicy, but i can imagine that’s tricky to do with an omakase.

we never saw a menu, so while remember some of the dishes, i would have to guess at most of the descriptions on this one. oops! anyway, i’d highly recommend getting a resy at anajak if you can. we still need to go back for the normal menu too!
