providence is arguably one of the best restaurants in the city. we went and it was so so good and exceeded all expectations.

counter 3.five.vii, austin.
the best meal of our austin getaway was at counter 3 . five . vii. we loved everything about the meal, every detail from design to service to food was expertly addressed.

dill, reykjavik.
we celebrated our third wedding anniversary with a cozy and delightful meal at dill in reykjavik.

matur og drykkur means "food and drink" in icelandic, but is also the name of a quaint restuarant in reykjavik.

dinner and a show at Q sushi.
as a treat to myself, i booked dinner for us at Q sushi in downtown LA. it's omakase only, and a set price of $165 per person. it's unique as one of the very, very few places outside of japan serving edo-style sushi.

valentine's day winemaker dinner with roomforty.
wanting to try something a little different for valentine's day this year, we bought tickets for roomforty's annual valentine's day winemaker dinner.

chinapoblano at the cosmopolitan.
we arrived at the cosmopolitan and got checked in around 9pm. we were tired, and hungry, and luckily, we found china poblano right inside the hotel! it's famous spanish chef jose andres interpretation of mexican and chinese food.

dinner at the newly opened otium.
months ago, we reserved tickets to the new broad museum. coincidentally, it ended up being the opening weekend of neighboring (and much anticipated) restaurant, otium. the space is beautiful, and the food was excellent.

the royce at the langham hotel.
we recently did a family dinner at the royce, located inside pasadena's langham hotel. the food was delicious, and the space was weirdly modern, but still beautiful.
république on la brea.
there has been much fanfare about republique since it opened. but it's on la brea. i really don't like driving to la brea.

merah putih seminyak.
we really didn't like the scene in seminyak, but it's where merah putih is, and that alone makes it worth stopping in.

mozaic in ubud, bali.
i plan trips and vacations around food first, and when i started planning our honeymoon/anniversary* to bali, mozaic kept popping up over and over again as one of the best restaurants and fine dining experiences on the island.

smoke.oil.salt's one year anniversary
our good friends ian and tim live ridiculously close to smoke.oil.salt and have been going since they opened a year ago. when ian asked if we wanted to join them for smoke.oil.salt's one year anniversary dinner this weekend, we said yes immediately.
