smoke.oil.salt's one year anniversary
our good friends ian and tim live ridiculously close to smoke.oil.salt and have been going since they opened a year ago. we went to the restaurant for the first time (with ian and tim) three or four months after they opened and had an amazing meal. when ian asked if we wanted to join them for smoke.oil.salt's one year anniversary dinner this weekend, we said yes immediately.
it was a ten course meal of their "greatest hits" and it did not disappoint. i love how fresh and seafood-centric the meal was. my favorites were the salpico d'orxata (a creamy seafood cocktail), carabineros i floricol (a large prawn where we were instructed to rip off the head and drink its head juices like a shot), and pluma iberica (perfectly tender and flavorful iberico pork). one of these days we need to go back for their sunday paella nights..!
