brunch at superba food and bread.
part of me misses living on the westside. a lot. it's the same part of me that hears about amazing places like superba food + bread opening and knows it will at least be months before i make the trek to try it. but on a recent sunday, i rendezvoused with james over in venice and finally, finally made it to brunch in the large, airy, sunny space.
despite the large space, there was still a bit of a wait for a table, but between the coffee bar in the corner (which i forgot to take a picture of) and the amazing westside weather, we really couldn't complain. the menu was divided into toasts, breakfasty, and lunchy. we didn't order much but it was all delicious. but the highlight? definitely the chicken liver toast with apple butter.
chopped jidori chicken liver toast with pink lady apple butter, pickled shallots and trufflebert hazelnuts.
breakfast sandwich with sunnyside egg, linguica sausage, braised kale, pain au lait.
hangtown fry with soft scrambled eggs, mushrooms, onions, bacon, potatoes, crispy oyster and chilis. the crispy oyster was heavenly. i could eat a whole plate of those.
