knuckle & claw in silverlake.
i stopped by newly opened knuckle & claw on a sunday afternoon. it's managed to make itself a nice little haven amongst bike and auto shops on sunset boulevard.
we stuck to the basics and ordered a maine lobster roll as well as their remaining three roll options in mini size (blue crab, dungeness crab, maine shrimp).
the bread is PERFECT. soft and buttery, and gently toasted on the outside. their fillings are simple, highlighting the lobster, shrimp or crab, with little to no mayonnaise and definitely no celery. instead, some mayo is simply put on the bread before being loaded up with seafood.
all the rolls are tasty, but the lobster is definitely a standout. super fresh, with lots of big chunks of claw meat. it's everything you hope for in a lobster roll.
we ate on the little patio off to the side, which despite really being inside an auto body shop parking lot, feels nice and cozy with the custom built benches and planters. the interior and front patio are bright and white, with lots of new england coast touches.
