hi!

i love to eat and travel and document as much of it as i can.

red herring, eagle rock.

red herring, eagle rock.

we sort of stumbled upon red herring by chance, and we were pleasantly surprised by this gem of a neighborhood restaurant. located on colorado boulevard in eagle rock, it's a beautifully designed space, and the extra large open window on the second floor makes you feel like you're dining al fresco.

blue crab cakes: lump blue crab, romesco, basil aioli, pickled mustard seeds.

pate: chicken liver pate, grilled bread, house pickles, herbs.

the menu is a bit eclectic - james had chicken and waffles, and i had the local catch over gnocchi (i think it was rock cod, but my memory is awful). everything was great, but the pate was my favorite dish of the night. creamy and delicious, and the house made tomato and green bean pickles were awesome!

buttermilk fried chicken and waffles, butter, maple syrup.

local catch, artichokes, gnocchi, rapini leaves, aioli.

side of stuffed squash blossoms.

we will definitely be back to this place!
